About

Functional consultant first, coder second

I'm Rupesh Bhandari, a functional consultant for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, based in Kathmandu. My job is to sit between the people who run a business and the system they run it on: I learn how a company actually buys, sells, pays and closes its books, then set up Business Central to fit.

I came to it from finance. I'm ACCA-qualified, with an MBA and an MCA, and I worked in accounting, audit and financial consulting before ERP. That's why I care how a posting lands in the ledger and not just that it posts. When configuration isn't enough I write the AL extension or the Python integration myself. MailMyReport, for example, emails scheduled reports straight from the Report Inbox, which Business Central can't do on its own.

Outside work I write up what I learn: what's new in each Business Central release, how a ledger entry really gets made, how this year's tax slabs changed, how to make Python talk to an ERP. Everything here is free. The blog explains, the tools calculate, the books teach from the start, and the data is there for anyone building on Nepal's tax rules.
